Project Overview
Daramkhola Hydro Electric Project is a 9.6 MW Run Of River (RoR) type of project located on Galkot Municipality and Musikot Municipality of Baglung District, Dhaulagiri Zone and Gulmi District, Lumbini Zone in the Western part of Nepal.
The project area, primarily in Galkot Municipality, encompasses key components: intake, conveyance system, powerhouse, switchyard, and tailrace canal. Water diverted from Daram Khola at Kharkhola Gaun village travels through these elements to reach the powerhouse at Manewa village. Utilizing a design discharge of 10.3 m³/s and an elevation difference of 810m, the project generates electricity. Located within longitude 83°19’00” to 83°21’43” East and latitude 28°11’00” to 28°12’30” North, it’s about 324 km from Kathmandu and 132 km from Bhairahawa, an Indo-Nepal border entry point. The headwork’s and powerhouse sites are at the bottom of the Baglung-Burtibang access road, with the headrace alignment following the right bank of Daram Khola.
